On Wednesday 29 June, Madelynn's mum came to spaeak to the class. She came to New Zealand from Colorado in the Uniteds States of America. She showed us a map of USA, the USA flag, some American money and a Colorado numberplate. It was really interesting to hear about the States and the differences to living in New Zealand. Mrs Gill also showed us some cards that had American words on one side and the New Zealand way of saying the same thing. For example soda pop is fizzy, an eraser is a rubber, the sidewalk is our footpath and a flashlight we call a torch.
